Welcome to 2016!!! We’ve seen many people coming and going to their self-storage units at SaskWatch Storage in Moose Jaw. One thing that crossed our minds is “how efficient do folks make their units?” Your self-storage units don’t have to be a space you visit once
or twice a year to dig something out of a stack of boxes. They can be highly organized, easily accessible spaces that free up necessary space in your home or office. Here’s a few hints on how to get the most out of your storage space:
Unpack and Arrange Items Efficiently
Before you load up the truck to take your packed items to your self-storage unit, check with our manager to make sure there is adequate space for the truck to maneuver to your unit.
As you arrive at the facility and begin to unload, arranging your furniture, equipment, boxes, and other odds-and-ends efficiently in your storage unit will make a big difference in maximizing its convenience.
Here are a few tried-and-true suggestions for putting items into your unit: Plan ahead
• While your storage unit should already be clean and swept out, consider putting down protective canvas sheeting, cardboard or wooden boards on the floor for cleanliness.
• Keep a fold-up step stool in your space for accessing hard-to-reach areas.
• Frequently-used items should be placed near the entrance for easy access. This holds true for file boxes and other business items, too. Continue reading →

It’s Canada Day in Moose Jaw shortly and at SaskWatch Storage we’d like to do a shout out to our neighbours and hopefully you’ll be able to stop in and see them too.
The Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretive Centre (SBOIC) was created to help promote the conservation of the endangered Burrowing Owl and their prairie habitat through education, stewardship and eco-tourism. The Centre opened its gates to the public for the first time in the spring of 1997.
Our facility, along with much of Moose Jaw, is built on “owl habitat” and this is why we’d like you to help support their cause this Canada Day. Take a few minutes and stop in to say hi and learn more about these owls and how you may be able to help them out.
Speaking of habitat, if you are finding your own habitat to be getting a wee bit cluttered, give our manager a call and come check out our units for rent. We’d love to earn your business because we give a hoot 🙂
The Christmas and New Year’s Holiday season is another wrap and now you could be looking at a garage like this…Holy Crap! Why not make your New Year’s resolution this year to de-clutter and claim back your garage!
Bring your seasonal items over to SaskWatch Storage in Moose Jaw. Our mini storage is conveniently located off of Highway #1 and we have a range of unit sizes to best meet your needs.
Now that you have your space back at home, it sure will be nice to park your vehicle in the garage again and not have to scrape windows…now that’s peace of mind!
Here’s a couple of handy tips to consider when packing up your stuff:
1. Put in Shelves to take advantage of the vertical space in your unit
2. Label all of your boxes clearly and face the label outward so that they can be read easily
3. Leave a PATH to the back of your unit. This allows you to come by at any time and retrieve or leave items in your unit.
Once again, Happy New Year and all the best to you and your loved ones in 2015!
