At SaskWatch Storage we love hearing from you. Recently we were asked about the best ways to store kitchen items. Here’s a couple of things to consider packing up and storing your kitchen:
Remember we are not climate controlled. This means that when it get’s cold (as it sometimes does here in prairie’s) water is going to freeze.Make sure that everything is DRY before you store it. Moisture also has a tendency to create bad odours too – yuk!
When packing really fragile items such as cups, glassware, etc, place them in separate boxes than heavier items such as your pots and pans or bowling ball collection.
Be sure to protect your fragile items by filling in the gaps with crumpled up editions of the Moose Jaw Times-Herald and put them in strong boxes.
Always drain your dish washer and the magic black hoses that make them work.
We hope these tips help you and wish you all the best in your self storage experience. Still need a few ideas on how to get ready for loading up your storage unit? Give our manager Kathya call at 1-306-630-2526.
At SaskWatch Storagewe get that it can be tricky for folks to figure out what can fit into their storage unit. Well, there’s no reason to get bent out of shape like these two contortionists Pixie Le Knot (right) and Oohla Lowri did when they squeezed themselves into a square locker at Access Self Storage in London England.
As a general rule of thumb, here’s a quick guide to what your needs could be:
5 x 10 = contents of 1 bedroom
10 x 10 = contents of 2 bedrooms
10 x 15 = contents of 3 bedrooms
Still got questions? Feel free to contact our Manager Kathy directly by phone at 1-306-630-2526 and she will be happy to help you out 🙂
You think your great Aunt Betsy’s belly-lint collection is weird? Well clearly people put all kinds of things in mini storage and at SaskWatch Storage we’ve seen a few whacky things in our day too. Sometimes it’s good to know that you are not alone, so we thought we’d share a story of another storage owner’s discovery.
Take for instance the folks in Florida that decided to put Grandma in theirs…Ouch! We get that there are more important things in life than high-priced funerals but that is possibly taking it a bit too far 🙂 So what happened? Apparently the family fell behind on payments. When the manager of storage facility contacted the owners of the unit to let them know that they were going to auction the contents, the granddaughter revealed the contents to avoid the auction. No foul play is suspected.
Have a great April everyone and take advantage of our Spring Sale if you are looking for self storage in Moose Jaw!

There’s nothing like a Saskatchewan Roughrider streak to get a person going…Come on boys, let’s win one for Gainer! Speaking of gophers, did you know that they are famous hoarders?
Which had us reflect on the value of hoarding. Some folks would view hoarding as chronic disorganization. The fact that you can’t find where you put your keys or cell phone down is no worry. In fact, it’s just the sign you needed to go find some more space for yer junk (whoops…treasure).
At SaskWatch Storage we’d love to help you out and make a bit of free space for you at home or in the garage. No shame in this approach.
We’re conveniently located along Hwy 1 and provided safe, secure storage. It’s Easy Access to your stuff when you need it. Give our manager a call at 306-630-2526 and set up a time to check us out. No obligation.
All the best…here’s hoping for a “W” from our boys in August…Stop hoarding the wins!
